Young artists, apply to present, perform or share work at the National Young Artists Summit.

The National Young Artists Summit Youth Planning Team is currently seeking proposals to present, perform, or share work at the 2019 National Young Artists Summit on Saturday, November 1 in Austin, TX. Young artists, ages 13-20, are encouraged to apply by Thursday, August 22, 5pm (ET). Honorariums are included.

Native artists, apply for a Mentor Artist Fellowship through the Native Arts & Cultures Foundation. 

The Native Arts and Cultures Foundation’s (NACF) Mentor Artist Fellowship is a regional individual artist project award that focuses on artistic mentoring in the Upper Midwest, Pacific Northwest, and Southwest regions. The Fellowship is open to eligible, established American Indian and Alaska Native artists of 10 years or more who want to mentor an emerging American Indian or Alaska Native artist apprentice in either the Traditional or Contemporary Visual Arts categories for a period of fifteen months.

Apply to The University of Science and Art of Oklahoma’s Nesbitt Gallery’s 2019 Seven-States Biennial.

The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma’s Nesbitt Gallery welcomes entries for the 2019 Seven-States Biennial, a juried art exhibition open to all individuals at least 18 years of age and a legal resident of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico or Texas.

First prize is $2,500, second is $1,500 and third is $500. Five honorable mentions will receive $100 each. There will also be up to $6,000 in purchase prizes. Awards will be announced at the opening reception Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. in the Nesbitt Gallery.

Artists may submit up to three entries in a PowerPoint presentation with each image, title, medium and size on USB flash drive or CD. A non-refundable $35 fee must be included with the submission, and entries must be postmarked by Aug. 16.

All entries must be original, 2- or 3-dimensional media completed within the last two years and not produced as a student assignment. Photographs, digital images and original artist prints must be limited editions and no mechanical offset lithography reproduction prints will be accepted. Artists will be notified by Aug. 28 and accepted works must be received at the Nesbitt Gallery by Sept. 11.

Native artists, apply for a one-year artist fellowship through the First People’s Fund. 

From the First Peoples Fund:

Through our Artists in Business Leadership and Cultural Capital Fellowships, First Peoples Fund partners with Native artists and culture bearers to strengthen their business skills and to ensure that art, culture and ancestral knowledge are passed from one generation to the next.

Twenty to twenty-five artists are selected annually for First Peoples Fund’s one-year fellowship programs. Fellows receive $5,000 project grants, technical support and professional training to start or grow a thriving arts business and to further their important work in their communities.

Applicants Must be an enrolled member or provide proof of lineal descendancy of a U.S. federally recognized tribe, a state recognized tribe, or be an Alaska Native or Native Hawaiian.
