In 2017, gallupARTS was able to employ, showcase and/or provide services to 500 artists and engage 20,000 community members with the arts through 12 different programs. The work that gallupARTS does w impacts at least 1 in 5 of our community members. Here’s a breakdown of our accomplishments, “by the numbers,” for the previous year.

5 grants awarded, totaling $167,000

8 new programs launched
Summer Art Workshop Series engaging 14 teens and older adults in different classes
Artist Business Management Workshop Series, the first of which served 25 local artists
NorthFest, a 6-way partnership involving 7 art-making activities and 600+ Northside children and community members
Best in Show Night in partnership with the Galllup Inter-Tribal Ceremonial, spotlighting 35 award-winning Native artists and artworks and drawing a crowd of 350 people
Gallup Poetry Slam, bringing together almost 100 poets, artists and community members in its first 5 months
First Annual Bob Dylan Tribute Concert headlined by 3 regional bands and attracting 500+ fans
“Pop-up Art-Making Workshops” – We popped up at 3 different community events this year to provide hands-on experiences to 500+ of kids and families
